Feb 1 - 4:00 - 7:00 pm - Women's Heart Day Outreach at Mercer County Community College, West Windsor Township, NJ - A Free Program with screenings, demos, vendor tables, health seminar with "Ask the Experts" Health Panel, free gifts and door prizes. Honorary Chairperson for the Women's Cardiovascular Initiative in Mercer County is Mercer County Clerk Cathy DiConstanzo (pictured at left). Event Co-Chairs are Kristine Olson, RN, and Kathy Williamson, RN, both from Capital Health System in Trenton, NJ.

Directions to Mercer County Community College
From the north: take Route 1 south towards Trenton to Route 295 and go towards Bordentown. Follow 295 for approximately 3 miles. Exit onto Sloan Road East, going under the overpass. You will pass a large AMC Cinema on your right on Sloan Road. Continue through the light at the intersection of Quakerbridge Road. The road name changes to Flock Road. Go to the end of Flock Road and turn left onto Edinburgh Road (same as Old Trenton Road). The community college is approximatley 2 miles up on the left. Follow the parking signs for “Women's Heart Day”. Screenings will take place in the Communications Building Room CM-170 from 4-5 pm. The seminar will take place next door in Kelsey Theatre from 5-7 pm.

Free Screenings for Township Residents

Lawrence Township Health Department: Blood pressure screenings every 1st and 3rd Wed from 1-4 pm at Town Hall on Route 206 in Lawrence Township.

Hamilton Towship Health Department: Nurse screenings are completed every other Wednesday. The next one is scheduled for Feb. 6. Call one week in advance to schedule an appointment: 609.890.3884. Screening includes blood sugar so participants should fast 2 ours prior to their appointment.

Ewing Township Health Department completes cholesterol screenings the first Tuesday of each month. The time alternates between evening and daytime. Call 609.883.2900 x 7686 to schedule an appointment. One day advance notice is all that is required. The next screening is February 5, 6:30-8:30pm for cholesterol & blood pressure. The reading is for Total Cholesterol only and takes approximatley 3 minutes.

City of Trenton Health Department: Blood pressure assessments will continue with the Blood Pressure Campaign “Trenton: A City with Heart”. The next screening is scheduled Feb 5 from 9-11am at the Central Post Office on Montgomery Street and Feb 7 from 12:30 - 2:30pm.
